TERLISTAT 1 MG is a life-saving vasoactive medication containing Terlipressin, a synthetic analog of the natural hormone vasopressin. Manufactured by Samarth Life Sciences, it is primarily used in emergency and hospital settings to treat Bleeding Esophageal Varices—enlarged veins in the food pipe that can leak or rupture due to severe liver disease. Terlistat works as a potent vasoconstrictor, narrowing the blood vessels in the abdominal region to reduce the flow and pressure in the affected veins, thereby stopping or slowing down life-threatening bleeding. Additionally, it is used for the emergency treatment of Type 1 Hepatorenal Syndrome (HRS), a rapidly progressive form of kidney failure in patients with liver cirrhosis.
