About Rivaroxaban 15mg Tablets
Buy Rivaroxaban 15 mg Tablets online. Each tablet contains 15 mg of rivaroxaban, an anticoagulant (blood thinner) used to prevent and treat harmful blood clots. It is the same active ingredient as the reference brand Xarelto. In the USA, UK and Australia it is a prescription medicine, so a valid prescription is needed for your order. See today's price above and add it to your cart.
The 15 mg tablet is used in the first 21 days of treating a deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, taken twice a day with food. It is also the reduced dose once a day for stroke prevention in some adults with atrial fibrillation and reduced kidney function. Approved uses and legal status differ between countries, so this page covers the USA, UK, Australia, the UAE and Russia.

How it works
Rivaroxaban is a direct factor Xa inhibitor, a type of anticoagulant (blood thinner). Factor Xa is a protein the body needs to make blood clots. By blocking it, rivaroxaban makes the blood less likely to form clots in the veins, in the heart or in narrowed arteries. It does not dissolve clots that have already formed, and it does not cure the underlying condition.
Uses
Treating blood clots: rivaroxaban 15 mg twice a day is used for the first 21 days of treatment of deep vein thrombosis (a clot in a leg vein) and pulmonary embolism (a clot in the lungs). After 21 days, the dose usually changes to 20 mg once a day.
Atrial fibrillation with reduced kidney function: 15 mg once a day is the dose used to lower the risk of stroke and blood clots in adults with non-valvular atrial fibrillation and moderately reduced kidney function.
Your prescriber chooses the right strength and the length of treatment, and may change the dose if your kidney function changes.
Dosage and how to take it
The UK product information describes 15 mg twice a day (30 mg in total) for the first 21 days to treat a clot, taken with food, followed by 20 mg once a day. For stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation, 15 mg once a day, taken with the evening meal, is described when kidney function is moderately reduced.
Dosing rules vary by country. The US label also describes 15 mg twice a day for 21 days, followed by 20 mg once a day, and 15 mg once a day for atrial fibrillation with reduced kidney function. The 15 mg tablet should be taken with food. Do not change the dose yourself. Always follow the leaflet in the pack and the advice of your prescriber or pharmacist.
Storage Instructions
Store the tablets in their original pack, following any storage instructions printed on it. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
Possible side effects
- Bleeding, including nosebleeds, bleeding gums and bruising easily
- Heavier or longer periods in women
- Blood in urine, stool or vomit
- Anaemia (feeling tired or pale)
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Itching or skin rash
- Raised liver enzymes on blood tests
Seek urgent medical help for heavy or uncontrolled bleeding, black or bloody stools, vomiting blood, coughing up blood, a severe headache, sudden weakness or confusion after a fall or blow to the head, or swelling of the face, lips or throat. Tell any doctor or dentist that you take an anticoagulant before any procedure.
Safety
- Bleeding risk: rivaroxaban makes bleeding more likely and can cause serious or fatal bleeding. Do not use if you have active bleeding or a condition with a high bleeding risk.
- Do not stop suddenly: stopping early raises the risk of a stroke or blood clot. The US label carries a boxed warning on this. Only stop on your prescriber's advice.
- Spinal or epidural procedures: blood clots around the spine can cause paralysis after a spinal puncture or epidural. Tell your doctor you take rivaroxaban.
- Other medicines: aspirin, NSAIDs, other anticoagulants and antiplatelet medicines raise bleeding risk. Strong CYP3A4 and P-gp inhibitors such as ketoconazole, itraconazole and ritonavir, and inducers such as rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin and St John's wort, change its effect and may mean it should not be used.
- Kidney and liver disease: the dose may need to change in kidney disease, and rivaroxaban is not for liver disease with a bleeding tendency. Your prescriber will check your kidney function.
- Artificial heart valves and antiphospholipid syndrome: rivaroxaban is not recommended with mechanical heart valves or in triple-positive antiphospholipid syndrome.
- Surgery and dental work: your treatment may need to be paused before surgery. Do not pause it yourself.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: the UK product information says it must not be used in pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Use effective contraception while taking it.
- Allergy: do not use if you are allergic to rivaroxaban or any ingredient. The tablets contain lactose.
- Carry an alert card: keep the patient alert card from the pack with you and show it to any healthcare professional.
This page provides general product information and does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Rivaroxaban is a prescription anticoagulant and must not be stopped suddenly. Take it only as directed by your prescriber. Follow the official product information and the guidance of a healthcare professional.

FAQs
What is rivaroxaban 15 mg used for?
It is used for the first 21 days of treating deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, taken twice daily, and as a once-daily dose to prevent stroke in some adults with atrial fibrillation and reduced kidney function.
What is the reference brand of rivaroxaban?
The reference (original) brand is Xarelto, developed by Bayer. Rivaroxaban is also sold as generic tablets in some countries and under other names. Always check the strength and manufacturer on the pack you receive.
Do I need a prescription for rivaroxaban 15 mg?
Yes. In the USA, UK and Australia, rivaroxaban is a prescription medicine. Upload your prescription at checkout or on the Upload prescription page, and our pharmacist will check it before dispatch.
How do I buy rivaroxaban 15 mg tablets online?
Choose your pack, add it to your cart and check out securely. Because a prescription is required, upload it at checkout or on the Upload prescription page. Our pharmacist checks it before dispatch, and you can follow your order from your account.
Should rivaroxaban 15 mg be taken with food?
Yes. The 15 mg tablet should be taken with food, because food improves absorption at this strength. Take it with a meal at the same times each day, and follow the leaflet in the pack.
Why do I take 15 mg twice daily and then change to 20 mg?
Treatment of a new clot starts with a higher dose for the first 21 days to bring the clot under control, then moves to 20 mg once a day. Do not change the dose yourself; your prescriber will tell you when to switch.
What should I do if I miss a dose of rivaroxaban?
If you take 15 mg twice a day and miss a dose, take it straight away to keep to a total of 30 mg a day; you may take two 15 mg tablets together. Then continue as normal the next day. For the once-daily 15 mg dose, take it as soon as you remember that day. Follow the leaflet in the pack.
Can I stop taking rivaroxaban suddenly?
No. Stopping suddenly increases the risk of a blood clot or stroke, and the US label carries a boxed warning about this. Only stop or pause rivaroxaban on the advice of your prescriber, including before surgery or dental work.
What are the signs of bleeding on rivaroxaban?
Watch for nosebleeds that will not stop, bleeding gums, easy bruising, heavy periods, blood in urine or stool, black stools or vomiting blood. Seek urgent medical help for heavy bleeding or any bleeding after a head injury.
Can I take rivaroxaban with aspirin, ibuprofen or other medicines?
Aspirin and NSAIDs such as ibuprofen increase bleeding risk, and some antifungals, HIV medicines and anticonvulsants change how rivaroxaban works. Always check with your prescriber or pharmacist before adding any medicine or supplement.
Which countries do you deliver to?
We deliver to the USA, UK, Australia, the UAE, Russia and many other countries. Delivery options and the estimated delivery time for your country are shown at checkout before you pay.
